Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-17

This Privacy Policy describes how Audit Faction ("we", "us" or "the Publisher") collects, uses and shares information when you visit auditfaction.com ("the Site").

1. Information we collect

The Site is intentionally lightweight and does not require an account. We automatically collect a minimal set of technical data through standard server logs and privacy-friendly analytics:

  • Pages visited, referring URL, timestamp
  • Approximate location (country level) derived from IP address
  • Browser type and operating system (User-Agent string)

We do not collect names, email addresses or other personal identifiers unless you voluntarily send them to us (for example via the contact page).

2. Cookies

The Site itself does not set tracking cookies. Third-party affiliate networks (clearly labelled in articles) may set a cookie when you click an outbound link; that behavior is governed by the destination site, not by us. See our cookie policy for details.

3. How we use information

We use server log data to:

  • Operate and secure the Site (rate-limit abusive bots, debug 5xx errors)
  • Measure traffic in aggregate (no individual profiling)
  • Comply with legal obligations when applicable

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share aggregated, non-identifying data with hosting providers, CDN partners or analytics services strictly to operate the Site. We disclose information only when required by law, a valid court order or to protect against fraud or imminent harm.

5. Your California privacy rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected, request that it be deleted and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days.

6. Your rights under other US state laws

Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA) and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights. Use the same contact channel above to exercise them.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data retention

Server log entries are retained for a maximum of 30 days, then deleted. Contact emails are retained only for as long as needed to handle the conversation, then archived or deleted.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least seven days.

10. Contact
